Alcalali is sheltered between the Coll de Rates, Cavall Verd and Seguili mountain ranges and next to the Gorgos river. It is bordered by Pedreguer and Benidoleig to the north, Jalon and Lliber to the east, Orba, Murla, Benigembla and Parcent to the west and Tarbena to the south.

The medieval tower in the heart of the village with it's fabulous viewpoint over the Vall de Pop was built at the end of the 14th century as a lookout tower to protect the inhabitants from attacks by Berber pirates and bandits. It has now been restored and converted into a museum with stunning views.

Alcalali is a village full of rich cultural heritage and unexpected treasures. In addition to the tower and church there is also the ethnological museum which has preserved the old machinery used for the traditional process of oil and raisin production.

The village offers the relaxation of a natural environment with rural landscapes and many walking and hiking options. For cyclists there are three mountain bike routes that start in the village. Fields of almond trees, vineyards and orange trees hug the landscape and the Gorgos river invites you to enjoy the little pleasures of life.

Throughout February, the Alcalali In Flower festival is held, dedicated to the beauty of the almond blossom. The valley is transformed into a picture postcard expanse of pink and white blossom. There is a complete program of activities linked to the land, local products, gastronomy, music and culture.
